Superintendent Spearman Announces Student Advisory Council

Columbia, SC – State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman recently formed a Student Advisory Council to provide feedback from a student’s perspective on education in South Carolina’s classrooms.

"Sometimes when we discuss important education issues, we forget to listen to those who are impacted the most by the decisions we make," said Spearman. "That is why, as State Superintendent, the first advisory group I wanted to form was focused on students. These individuals represent their peers across our state and will provide essential feedback directly to me on policies that affect their schools, families, and communities.  I plan to meet with these students at least twice during the school year and work with them to move our education system forward."
