The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) invites the public to virtually review textbooks and instructional materials that have been proposed for use in South Carolina’s public schools.

The materials in the area of Physical Education 9–12 and Advanced Placement Macroeconomics will be available online from February 22 to March 22, 2022. The SCDE will post the links to access the instructional materials on its website (Virtual Public Review) beginning February 22, 2022. In addition, the link to submit public comments will be available on this site.

The proposed materials are aligned to the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards and were chosen in accordance with State Board of Education (SBE) Regulation 43-70, which tasks the Instructional Materials Review Panel to rate all items offered for adoption before putting them forth for a 30-day public review period. At the culmination of the review period, the materials and textbook will be submitted to the SBE for consideration at their April 12th meeting, along with comments received from the public review process. The SBE will then make a final determination on adopting the instructional materials.
