Pelion High School Culinary Arts Teacher Hopes to Cook Up National Success
PELION, S.C. — The South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) named Pelion High Culinary Arts Instructor Rhonda Woods the 2015 South Carolina ProStart Educator of Excellence and nominated her to compete for a national award.

Woods and more than 35 other state-level winners will be recognized at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s (NRAEF) Educator of Excellence Awards Reception and Dinner in Chicago, Illinois, on May 14, 2015.
NRAEF will present two of the state-level winners with the James H. Maynard Excellence in Education Award which includes a $5,000 cash prize.
ProStart, a two-year high school program, teaches students about restaurant management and culinary arts. Pelion High is one of 61 South Carolina schools that offer the program.
