Columbia, SC – State Superintendent of Education Molly M. Spearman launched a new statewide program in a special ceremony where she celebrated more than 2,000 high school seniors in South Carolina who made the decision to join the United States Armed Forces.

Members of the Airport High School Drill Team brought home several awards after competing in a competition held in Florida.

Rebeca Pacheco was selected to be a Gates Millennium Scholar for 2016, joining last year’s Lake City High School graduate Mikayla Hanna. 

Alexa Eyring and Kayla Shine won an award for their invention to help children with cerebral palsy.
