Resources for Cohort 18

PACE I participants must bring the following resources to the training each day:

  • Each participant must bring a fully-charged laptop daily to access course content through the learning management system and to submit assignments during sessions.
  • Each participant must bring printed copies of designated assignments, as required by instructors. These printed copies will be used for peer-review and other activities during the session. The training site does not offer access to printing. Participants must have access to printing at home or at another location.
  • Each participant must download an electronic copy of the state college and career-ready academic standards for his or her content area. These standards are available on the SCDE website.
  • If possible, each participant should have access to a textbook for one of the classes he or she will teach. This textbook may be a hard copy or an electronic version and are available from the school.

PACE Course Management System (Moodle)

PACE participants will access course content and upload assignments and other documents through Moodle, the course management software utilized by the SCDE and the Office of Virtual Education. Participants may answer many questions regarding PACE by reviewing materials readily available through Moodle.

Each PACE participant must maintain current access to Moodle with an operational email account that does not change and that the participant checks on a regular basis. The email address provided by a participant during pre-registration is used to create each individual’s Moodle account and profile. Group announcements, assignment information, announcements from instructors, and Moodle alerts will be disseminated using the e-mail address listed in the profile/messaging settings. A participant’s failure to maintain access to this email account and Moodle may impact his or her success in the program.
