The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) prioritizes high-quality instructional materials for students and teachers across the state. SCDE has partnered with EdReports to develop the Mathematics Instructional Materials State List.
SCDE and EdReports will host a series of statewide webinars to provide information and learning about South Carolina's initiative for selecting and implementing high-quality instructional materials. Districts and schools are encouraged to attend and utilize the session materials and recordings to support their materials adoption process.

This session is a grounding session for understanding the importance of high-quality instructional materials and the impact they have on student outcomes. The session will explore the data and research behind why materials matter, and provide an overview of EdReports smart adoption steps.
Part 2: The SC Review Tool and List Development
This session will provide district guidance on how to prepare for a comprehensive, effective materials adoption process in anticipation of the state list - what to do before the list comes out, how to set up the process, and how to ensure your district knows what they are looking for in materials.
