The Educator Retention and Recruitment Study Committee was established through Proviso 1.92 in the 2017-2018 Appropriations Act. The committee is chaired by State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman and is charged with identifying the causes of teacher shortages and making recommendations on ways to increase teacher recruitment through alternative certification, financial incentives, induction and mentorship, evaluation and feedback, and teacher leadership.
Stakeholders and members of the public are encouraged to submit comments, feedback, and suggestions to the committee through the online feedback form.
