The State Abstinence Until Marriage—Emerging Programs funding is intended for programs or organizations that have not reached the level of evidence-based data to show validation of activity related to Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE), but that have apparent potential to accomplish the goals of abstinence education. The SCDE anticipates awarding one (1) grant. The award amount will be determined based on the quality of applications received and total funding requested.

The Office of Student Support (OSS) will offer a pre-application technical assistance webinar via Microsoft Teams on July 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. during the technical assistance for the State Abstinence Until Marriage—Emerging Programs technical assistance. Please use this Microsoft Teams link to register for the webinar. Participants will be able to log in 15 minutes prior to the start of the session to test their equipment’s audio settings. While participation is not mandatory in order to submit an application, it is highly recommended.
