Information Technology

The mission of Information Technology is to provide direction, planning, analysis, design, development, and implementation of the agency's information technology services both internally to the agency and coordinating statewide with school and district technology professionals.

Chief Privacy Office

The Chief Privacy Office (CPO) has the primary mission of maintaining compliance with privacy laws and regulations across the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). The CPO leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of SCDE’s information privacy program through policies, processes, and procedures. Our vision is to proactively incorporate measures, both organizational and technical, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations for appropriately processing personal data. It is the CPO’s primary responsibility to lead the agency’s comprehensive efforts in the development of privacy practices for SCDE.

Project and Application Management

The Office of Project and Application Management (PAM) is responsible for designing, developing and managing the IT applications and IT projects for the South Carolina Department of Education. The office responsibilities include Project Management, guided by PMI Methodologies, and Application development, utilizing .NET and ColdFusion industry standards as a common practice. In addition, Application Development provides web service development, integration, implementation and support for web resources for the South Carolina Department of Education.

Technology Support Services

Our mission is to provide technology assistance for the South Carolina Department of Education agency and to provide technical support for SC school districts' for state provided software applications and systems in order to meet the technology needs of the South Carolina Department of Education.
