Session/Series Description:
One Stop Workshop is a free virtual arts education conference developed as a project of ArtsGrowSC to provide access and equity in quality arts-focused professional development to ALL educators in South Carolina. Professional learning offerings include both live, pre-scheduled sessions as well as asynchronous, on-demand sessions in the following areas: Arts Integration, Creative Writing, Dance, Media Arts, Music, Theatre, Visual Art, and more. You will receive a certificate of completion for every session you attend during the virtual conference. Access One Stop Workshop HERE. Registration is required.

2. Session/Series Title: GRANTS!

Session/Series Description:
GRANTS! is an overview of arts grants available through the South Carolina Department of Education's Arts Curricular Innovation Grants Program and through ArtsGrowSC via the South Carolina Arts Commission. The goal of this session is to provide resources to seek grant funding for arts programs. Participants will access SCDE/SCAC Grant RFPs and create an outline to serve as a template for writing grant proposals.

3. Session/Series Title: Formative Assessment in the Arts

Session/Series Description:
While assessment in arts education often emphasizes the final product, presentation, or performance, utilizing formative assessment can help teachers ensure students possess the skills necessary to be successful within their arts areas. Implementing a system of formative assessments partnered with a growth mindset WILL lead to more successful student outcomes. The goal of this session is to provide arts teachers with strategies to implement formative assessment more effectively and efficiently. Participants will explore various assessment types, engage in F.A.S.T. feedback, and outline formative assessment strategies to enhance student learning.

4. Session/Series Title: MTSS-Supporting Students In and Through the Arts

Session/Series Description:
The South Carolina Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Framework helps districts and schools personalize student learning plans through intense academic and/or social and emotional supports as well as identify at-risk students and provide the appropriate supports. The goal of this session is to inspire student growth by activating MTSS structures to bolster student learning in and through the arts. Participants will connect with other educators, reflect on components of MTSS, engage in scenarios, and form connections between MTSS and their art areas.

5. Session/Series Title: Does our school/district need a strategic arts plan?

Session/Series Description:
Strategic Planning plays an important role in many areas of our educational landscape, and a significant number of schools and districts in South Carolina have chosen to develop a Strategic Arts Plan. If you do not have a Strategic Arts Plan, this session may be for you. The goal of this session is to provide valuable information so participants can clearly articulate the importance of Strategic Arts Planning. During this session, participants will analyze the importance of strategic planning in the educational environment and evaluate its relevance in arts education, discern key characteristics that distinguish Strategic Arts Plans from other types of plans, identify the structure of Strategic Arts Plans, and ultimately prepare to design YOUR plan.

6. Session/Series Title: Visual and Performing Arts Vertical Alignment

Session/Series Description:
Intentional alignment of instructional expectations in the visual and performing arts is essential to ensuring that students attain sequential, developmentally appropriate skills and concepts aligned with South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency. The goal of this series is to build collaboration and communication among district visual and performing arts educators. Participants will identify common learning goals, develop a vertical alignment framework, address gaps and discontinuities, analyze instructional resources, design learning experiences, and create a plan for implementation.

7. Session/Series Title: Unpacking the Standards for Teaching Artists

Session/Series Description:
Unpacking the Standards for Teaching Artists is specifically designed for Teaching Artists (Artists-in-Residence) working in South Carolina’s K-12 public schools. The goal of this session is to provide resources to assist Teaching Artists in connecting their work with the South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency. Participants will identify the purpose of the College- and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency, realize why the arts standards are based on proficiency, and study the common organizational structure used throughout the standards for all arts areas.

8. Session/Series Title: Upacking the Standards for Arts Education Students

Session/Series Description:
Unpacking the Standards for Arts Education Students is specifically designed for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in arts educator preparation programs (Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts) at colleges and universities in South Carolina. The goal of this session is to support and build capacity among arts education students that will ensure their abilities to clearly articulate how the standards apply to their current work as arts education students and future work as arts educators as well as to incorporate the standards into short- and long-range planning to significantly improve student achievement in the arts. Participants will identify the purpose of the College- and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency, distinguish why the arts standards are based on proficiency, and study the structure (specifically comparing benchmarks and indicators), and consider the role of the standards in short- and long-range planning.
