Discus (Digital Information for SC Users) is a program of the State Library that provides electronic library resources, free of charge, to South Carolina citizens. Links are also provided to resources targeted specifically to career and vocational needs; they include assessments, practice tests, career ebooks, career videos, job and industry overviews, and much more. The mission of South Carolina's Occupational Information System is to provide accurate and up-to-date educational and career information to S.C. schools and other sites through the use of South Carolina's own Career Information System (CIS). The SCOIS Career System will:

• assist educators with incorporating state curriculum standards in conjunction with current and practical educational and career information and allow teachers to develop efficient long range academic achievement plans for students.
• Students can take career interest, skills, and values assessments; watch career-related videos; save information in a portfolio; work on soft skills, etc.
