Palmetto Heroes Program

Palmetto Heroes, a South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC Housing) initiative, is available to law enforcement officers, correctional officers, teachers, firefighters, veterans, nurses, and emergency medical services personnel.

To be eligible, a teacher must hold a valid South Carolina educator certificate and must reside and be employed full-time in South Carolina (or have a contract to begin teaching).

Qualified Palmetto Heroes homebuyers receive a reduced fixed rate mortgage and up to $10,000 in down payment assistance (DPA). Funding is limited. For more information, contact one of the real estate professionals, banks or mortgage brokers certified in SC Housing programs.
