Using the ACT Readiness Benchmarks, performance is classified into four ACT
Readiness Levels based on student scale scores:
In Need of Support - below the low cut
Close - at or above the low cut and below the benchmark
Ready - at or above the benchmark and below the high cut
Exceeding - at or above the high cut
where, except for writing, the low and high cuts are the lower and upper limits of a 95% confidence interval around the Readiness Benchmark. Writing cuts are based on expert judgement.
