PowerSchool
Reminders:
- Remember to code Seals of Distinction for Early Grads if this has not yet been done.
- PowerSchool Training Pilots: Please remember to have district staff participating in any PowerSchool training pilots complete their feedback survey(s). Please send any questions about feedback surveys to wstephens@ed.sc.gov
- Early Graduate and Summer Graduate: Remember that there’s an “easy button” in PowerSchool that completes these processes automatically!
Link of the week:
Remember to bookmark our link of the week! In our last post, we linked to the SC Department of Education 2021-2022 Enrich SIS Data Collection Schedule. This week’s featured document is our Ed-Fi in South Carolina web page. In particular, check out the following:

Reminders:
Code set mappings: PowerSchool Admin can ignore Code Set Mappings that are not immediately obvious for now. This includes:
- Program Type Descriptors

- Storecode Grading Periods
- Unmatched Storecode Terms
Code Set Mapping Workshop
As part of annual Ed-Fi integration in PowerSchool, PowerSchool Administrators will complete a Code Set Mapping step to associate local code values with downloaded values and with related data for publishing to the Ed-Fi ODS.
Register to learn how this works during our Tuesday, March 8th Code Set Mapping workshop! This workshop will be recorded.
Data Collection Deadline Changes
As we approach the 135th day, it’s a good idea to begin running preliminary funding reports. Be sure the reports execute correctly for the schools and are pulling reasonable data, etc. Updated Academic Assistance file coming out sometime over next couple weeks.
Athena Plugin
Update on Athena (Attendance data collection via PowerSchool API):
We have seven pilot districts and are looking to bring on another cohort of ~15 districts. Reach out to
Wyatt if you would do us a favor and participate.
District Data Governance Group (DDGG)
Please remember that the DDGG has a change control process that allows member districts guidance in implementations, customizations, PowerSchool changes, other relevant changes, etc. Reach out to Jeff Miller (
