
This will be a two-day event consisting of several presentations related to ESSER funds such as monitoring, audits, reporting, maintenance of equity, the Academic Recovery Plan, and more.
Once you register, a Microsoft Teams link will be provided. You will need this link to attend the conference. You will need to register for September 27 and September 28. You may forward the invite to the registration to those you think would benefit from it, but make sure not to send your personal Teams link after you register. That link is for your personal use.

SCDE ESSER Conference Day 1
ESSER Hot Topics:
We are pleased to welcome Ms. Julia Martin, the Legislative Director from Brustein & Manasevit, as our keynote speaker for our first ESSER Conference. We invite you to come in and listen to the programmatic overview and ESSER updates.

ESSER Program Monitoring: Dr. Otis Reed is our Lead Monitor in the Office of Emergency Programs. His presentation will cover components of the ESSER monitoring process and may include evaluation expectations, how SCDE will use the data being collected, and documentation that may be required from LEAs.

Academic Recovery Plan Revisions: Dr. David Mathis, Deputy Superintendent over College and Career Readiness, will discuss the Academic Recovery Plan and learning loss requirements.

Wednesday, September 28
SCDE ESSER Conference Day 2
ESSER Coding: Mr. Dan Ralyea is the Director of Research and Data Analysis at the SCDE. He will be presenting on PowerSchool Coding as it pertains to reporting, the audit of records, and how ESSER funds are impacting students.

Maintenance of Equity Reporting Requirements: Mr. Steven Strother is the Finance Director in the Office of the Superintendent. His presentation will cover maintenance of equity and GAPS.

ESSER Fiscal Monitoring Reviews and Compliance: Ms. Brittany Davis and Ms. Peggy Scott are Senior Auditors at the SCDE. They will discuss topics such as ESSER auditing which may include time and effort, asset tracking, and compliance.

OEP Research and Data Team: Ms. Sydney Arsenault and Mr. John Massengill are Education Associates with the Office of Emergency Programs and make up the Research and Data Team. They will be presenting about ESSER reporting and may include topics such as quarterly and annual reports, final reporting requirements, how the annual report form is possible to change, and how/why we collect the data we do.
