Description

The purpose of the 2024–25 South Carolina (SC) Migrant Education Program (MEP) subgrant is to improve educational opportunities for migratory children and youth to help them succeed in the regular school year, meet the same challenging state academic standards that all children and youth are expected to meet, and earn a high school diploma.

Eligible Applicants

An eligible local organizational agency (LOA) is a local educational agency (LEA) or public or private agency that demonstrates the ability and capacity to manage a program that will serve all eligible migratory children and youth for the proposed service area. In some cases, two or more LEAs or other entities may partner to form an LOA. Additionally, LOAs may propose, and are encouraged, to serve and/or identify and recruit (ID&R) migratory children and youth in multiple LEAs.

Funding Detail

The SCDE anticipates awarding approximately four (4) subgrants. Award amounts will be determined based on the quality of applications received and total funding requested.
