The COVID-19 public health emergency has impacted the ability of some prospective educators to complete the fingerprinting process required for certification. The state-approved vendor is scheduling appointments for in-state applicants to complete the electronic fingerprint scan; however, some locations may be closed or operating on limited hours temporarily. Applicants are advised to schedule appointments as early as possible and may encounter extended wait periods. Out-of-state applicants may have limited access to complete fingerprint cards through local law enforcement agencies at this time.
