Application
eLearning Days are an opportunity for districts and schools to provide continuous instruction that would otherwise be postponed due to weather or other disruptive interruptions (power outages, water main breaks, etc.). These days are instructional for students and may not be used for professional development.
To be considered for this opportunity, districts/schools must submit an application. Applications will be reviewed using a rubric. Those eLearning districts/schools that meet the criteria for eLearning as determined by the South Carolina Department of Education may use up to 5 eLearning days.
Pursuant of 1A.58. (SDE-EIA: Digital Learning Plan) The implementation of the eLearning program is the responsibility of the Department of Education. The Office of Virtual Education is heading this initiative with Tammy Hegler at the head.
Applications for the 2025-2026 year will be open May 1 - June 30.
Districts and Schools already approved for eLearning Days do not need resubmit the application.
