Purpose:
In accordance with Section II of the Memorandum titled “Ongoing Updates to OSF Process & Procedures (DRAFT),” dated September 7, 2023, this document lists the types of school construction, improvement, and renovation projects requiring OSF plan review submission and approval.
South Carolina Code §59-23-210 indicates that all new structures, additions, renovations, and alterations made to public school buildings and property are within the authority of the Office of School Facilities (OSF), as the designee of the State Superintendent of Education.

- Administrative Offices (adjacent to student occupied facilities)
- Amphitheaters
- All New Construction, Additions, and Renovations/Alterations in connection with the public education program in South Carolina
- Athletic Training Rooms
- Auditoriums
- Batting Cages
- Bleachers (indoor or outdoor)
- Cafeteria
- Canopy Additions
- Career and Technology Centers
- CATE (Career and Technology Education)
- Concession Buildings
- Door Replacements
- Door Access Controls
- Dugouts
- Dust collector exhaust systems (used by students)
- Enclosed outbuildings (for student learning)
- Fencing
- Field Lighting
- Fire Apparatus Access Routes
- Greenhouses (for student learning)
- Group Toilet Facilities
