ORDA Office Hours Webinars

An ORDA Office Hour webinar will take place monthly.

February 16, 2022

Register now, and join us live for our February ORDA Office Hour from 9:00-10:00 a.m. EST.

In this session, Susan Murphy from the Office of Federal and State Accountability will share a brief presentation relevant to all district and school personnel regarding the Enrollment Survey (ES). Following Susan’s presentation, the ORDA Data Collection Team will provide a recap of some recent State Reporting changes (see release notes), and there will be an open Q&A session with ORDA staff.

Statewide Collaboration and Support

DSAG meets monthly. Remember to send topics for discussion to your DSAG reps and lookout for those reps to send meeting minutes afterward.

PowerSchool

Link of the Week:
Remember to bookmark our link of the week! In our last post, we linked to the Student Information System Data Entry Manual. This week’s featured document is the Precode Guide, Version 1.9.

A reminder that SCReady / SCPASS precoding is due next month, and EOCEP in March may be helpful.

CRDC:
PowerSchool has updated the SC CRDC Documentation menu for the current reporting year. This can be found in the online help: https://docs.powerschool.com/USASC/civil-rights-data-collection-crdc.

When the help menu is expanded, it breaks it down to the following:
  • Civil Rights Data Collection CRDC
  • CRDC District Setup
  • CRDC School Setup
  • CRDC Staff Setup
  • CRDC Student Setup
  • CRDC Report

eCollect

Upcoming eCollect surveys will include:

  • a directory and military opt-out survey
  • accountability surveys

Please note the importance of these upcoming accountability surveys as stated in the eCollect Training and Accountability January 4 memo.

Considerations for Registration Packets:

  • When updating registration systems for next year, districts may wish to consider linking to eCollect surveys.
  • District may also wish to consider sending contacts data to PowerSchool contacts if the district intends to switch over during the spring/summer (or both “contacts” platforms if the registration vendor will allow and district wishes).

Level Data

Updates:
SCDE is crafting an agreement with Level Data to support districts in migrating student contacts data from the SC PowerSchool page to the Core PowerSchool Contacts module. Districts will have up to 18 months to migrate data. Only data from Core PowerSchool Contacts are moved to the District Ed-Fi ODS. Email wcothran@ed.sc.gov if your district would like to get a jump on this process before a more formal announcement is released. Also, it’s never a bad time to make sure all student addresses are validated and geocoded in PowerSchool. This should reduce the workload when the Level Data re-validation is executed in the district.
