Value Added Student Data Analysis

Performance based compensation under TAP means that teachers are compensated differentially based on the increased demands of the positions they hold, how well they perform in those positions, and the value-added contributions they make to their students' academic achievement. In addition to salary augmentations given to master and mentor teachers who take on additional roles and responsibilities, all teachers in TAP schools are eligible for financial awards based upon their average scores on multiple evaluations of their classroom teaching, as well as their students' classroom-level and school-level achievement growth as measured using a value-added model. "Value-added" refers to the improvement gains in student achievement made each year based on pre- and post-test outcomes.
