TAP-ADEPT
The performance evaluation component of TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement has been approved under the ADEPT system, and the TAP rubrics have been aligned with the ADEPT Performance Standards (APSs) for Classroom-Based Teachers. Therefore, the TAP rubric can be used to evaluate APSs 1 - 9 for classroom-based teachers in TAP schools, with the results then converted to ADEPT ratings. Educators such as school guidance counselors, library media specialists, and speech-language therapists in TAP schools are evaluated under their respective ADEPT Performance Standards and formal evaluation models.
The ADEPT Performance Standards TAP Conversion Chart (72Kb PDF) is designed to show the correlation of the ADEPT Performance Standards (APSs) for Classroom-Based Teachers and the indicators of the TAP rubric.
The TAP-ADEPT correlation Excel file (10Kb XLS) will allow evaluators to convert the TAP evaluation rubric scores into the appropriate correlated ADEPT scores.
Below are Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the TAP - ADEPT alignment:
1) How many TAP observations will those going through a formal
evaluation year need?
a. The same amount as any other teacher in the TAP
school (minimum of 4).
2) What scores on the TAP rubric will "pass" ADEPT?
a. Refer to
second document - ADEPT Performance Standards TAP Conversion Chart.
3) When should the TAP observations for those in formal evaluation year
be completed?
a. The same ADEPT dates should apply.
4) Who will conduct these formal observations?
a. The TAP mentor,
master, and administrators should formally observe the teacher. The ADEPT mentor
should not formally observe and score the teacher.
5) How does a district report scores/results?
a. The school or
district will use the Excel sheet posted in the Forum section of CODE in order
to convert TAP rubric scores to the appropriate ADEPT scores and then report
those converted scores.
