Teacher Recruitment and Retention

Teacher Recruitment and Retention provides innovative programs and initiatives to attract new teachers to the classroom. The unit collaborates with districts statewide to find successful methods of teacher retention. Foreign educators are recruited to teach in hard-to-staff classrooms. As an added benefit, these educators increase cultural understanding. There are currently Memorandums of Understanding with four countries: China, France, India, and Spain.
