State regulations require all school districts to provide at least one-half day early childhood development programs for four-year-olds who have indicated significant readiness deficiencies. Districts are to integrate the planning and direction of the half-day program with the Early Childhood Development and Academic Assistance Act of 1993. Programs for three-year-olds are allowable in accordance with the local district plans.
