Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Instructional Promising Practices (OIPP) is to provide leadership and technical assistance to the education community throug the implementation of innovative practices that lead to student learning through standards-based instruction.
Programs and Initiatives
In order to carry out its mission, the Office of Instructional Promising Practices has a set of initiatives and programs designed to meet the needs of districts, schools and teachers.
Formative Assessment Pilot: Keeping Learning on Track (KLT)
The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) is partnering with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to pilot a classroom formative assessment professional development initiative, Keeping Learning on Track, in 30 schools - 10 elementary, 10 middle, and 10 high - over a two-year period beginning this summer. The SCDE invites you to consider applying to participate in this exciting endeavor.
To apply, interested schools must complete the online application. The deadline for completion is May 9, 2008. If you have questions about the application, please call Coleen Finkley at 803-734-0030.
Due to limited space and funding, schools will be selected using the competitive process explained in the program overview.
