Internal Technology
Mission
The mission of Internal Technology is to provide technology assistance via microcomputer maintenance and network administration in order to meet the technology and Web maintenance and development needs of the South Carolina Department of Education.
This support includes:
- managing the networking infrastructure for
the agency and its five satellite offices; - administering the agency email system;
- installing, trouble-shooting, and repairing
approximately 800 computers; - providing Internet access;
- Web initiatives;
- training agency users in Microsoft Office
and GroupWise; - evaluating and approving all technology requests;
- consulting services;
- technology planning;
- professional development;
- innovative delivery strategies to reach staff in remote areas;
- program development to ensure
federal and state reporting guidelines are met; - the design, development, and
implementation of Web-based
applications and products; and - special projects though library, Web,
and instructional television media.
