Community and Parent Services
The Office of Community and Parent Services was created in part as a result of the Parental Involvement in Their Children's Education Act passed by the General Assembly in September 2000. The focus of the office is to support school districts and local schools in their family and community-friendly efforts.
The Office of Community and Parent Services offers technical assistance to local schools and school districts, providing help that is needed to increase family and community involvement and partnerships.
South Carolina's Red Carpet Schools Program, announced in November 2001, honors schools that do an excellent job of "rolling out the red carpet" for visitors.
